About EIReform.ca

This website was born from some of the most disturbing times we as Canadians have faced in quite some time.  Our EI system is severely flawed, if not broken.  Our ability to lean on each other as a society in the most difficult of times has defined us as a great country for decades.  Yet here we are, in 2009(almost 2010) and we are finding ourselves at a crossroads.  Do we as a people continue to care for each other when are most vulnerable, or do we abandon each other in our greatest time of need?

When we set out to educate people on our flawed EI system, we had no idea how deep into the trenches we would find ourselves.  Now, everyday, we find ourselves talking with more and more unemployed folks who, through no fault of their own, are trying, sometimes unsuccessfully, to qualify and collect from the EI system that they paid thousands of dollars into over the years; real people who lost their job in manufacturing, hospitality or office work, just to name a few.

This started as a pet project and has grown into a major campaign and we hope you will read, learn and share what you see here on these virtual pages.

Thanks for stopping by, check back often for updates,
